Contributed Packages

Community-authored packages published through TWINSERV, the twinBASIC package registry. To use a contributed package, add it to Project → References (Ctrl-T) → Available Packages.

Each package is versioned apart from twinBASIC, and its section says which version it documents. Packages that are not yet ready for use in a program are listed under Experimental Packages.

  • AutoCompleteLib – Windows shell auto-complete for text-input controls
  • FileProps – the Windows shell properties of a file, read and written
  • Fmt – StringFormat, a string built from a format string and values, in the style of C#’s String.Format
  • Generics – tuples, read-only objects that hold one to seven values of declared types
  • OLEGuids – OLE and COM interfaces and structures in twinBASIC source, in place of OLEGuids.tlb
  • tbFileSysTools – files, folders, drives and text streams, in place of the Scripting Runtime’s FileSystemObject
  • TBMANLIB_ListBoxHScroll – a horizontal scroll bar for a ListBox
  • TBMANLIB_RES – resources embedded in an executable, as bytes, strings, hex, Base64 or pictures
  • tbProjPacker – a .twinproj or .twinpack file unpacked into a folder of source files, and packed again
  • tbRegExp – regular expressions, in place of VBScript’s RegExp object; a match is at most about 3,300 characters long
  • tsJson – a JSON model with parsing, JSONPath queries, JSON Pointer, JSON Patch and JSON Schema validation
  • tsPwGen – passwords, PINs and passphrases, with their entropy known before they are generated
  • TwinTimerLib – a Win32 timer class that reports the elapsed time
  • VBA_JSON – JSON parsing and serialization, with UTC and ISO 8601 date conversion
  • VBComDlg – the CommonDialog class, for the Windows common dialogs
